DIRECTIONS: I-66 West to Exit 53 (Rte 28 South).  In downtown Manassas, go left on Main Street, through traffic light, then cross railroad tracks and stop at sign at Prince William Street, and museum is on your right.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  This state-of-the-art museum displays a wide array of artifacts from the area's rich history, including an extensive exhibit of the Civil War era. Nationally noted, the museum has been profiled in a number of national magazines and parts of its collection have been loaned out to such facilities as the Reagan Presidential Library.

PARKING:  3 wheelchair accessible parking spaces.

TYPES OF PATHS:  Brick pathways outside, carpet walkways inside.  No steep grades.  Paths are 50 ft. long.

ENTRANCE:  Located 45 ft. from curbless section of driveway.  Doors, 70 in. wide, easily open out with pull handle located 37 in. above floor. 

PUBLIC REST ROOMS:  Near main entrance.  Doors are 35 in. wide, and open in.  No turns to enter.  Accessible stalls have 31 in. wide doors opening out, and handrails.  30 in. between commode and wall.  Sink height 33 in.  Accessible stall checked regularly for obstructions.

SPECIAL SERVICES:
For guests with hearing disabilities, there are written scripts available.  Open caption videos are available upon request.

For guests with visual disabilities, there are hands-on exhibits such as discovery room where visitors can handle reproduction objects.  Please call in advance.  There are documents in large print on non-glossy surface.  There is increased wattage lighting in meeting areas.

GIFT SHOP:  Aisles 38 in. wide.  Counters 42 in. high.  Clerks assist customers with special needs.  Aisles clear of temporary displays.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Accepted credit cards V and MC.  Closed on Mon. Open 10-5 Tu-Sun and Federal Holidays falling on Monday.  Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.    Free admission. Groups of 10 or more are encouraged to call ahead to make arrangements.
