GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Water Country USA is the mid-Atlantic’s largest water-themed park with water rides, slides and entertainment in a 1950s and ‘60s surf theme.

Guests are in for the slide of their lives in 2011 at the mid-Atlantic’s largest water park. The epic new drop slide, Vanish Point, is a 75-foot drop slide. It will join the 43 acres of pools, children’s play areas, lazy rivers and water rides that make up Water Country USA. The park also includes “Rock ‘n’ Roll Island,” featuring nearly 600 feet of body slides, a 700-foot lazy river and a 9,000-square-foot pool all set to a 1950s and ‘60s surf theme. For guests who want to relax, enjoy one of the park’s 1,500 free lounge chairs or rent one the park’s 16 private cabanas.

PARKING:  Wheelchair accessible parking spaces.

FIRST AID:  The First Aid station is between Nitro Racer and Aquazoid.

PUBLIC REST ROOMS:  Wheelchair accessible rest rooms are located at the Main Entrance, Jet Bathhouse, Main Bathhouse, Meltdown Water Slide and next to Surfin’ Joe’s.  Marked with the wheelchair symbol.

SPECIAL TIPS:
Assistance dogs are allowed throughout Water Country USA but may not enter the water in any area.  When guests are participating in an attraction, someone in the party must stay with the assistance dog.

Guests with mobility disabilities are advised to use the pathway between Malibu Pipeline and Jet Stream due to the steepness of the hill and the stairs between Catalina Grille and Surfer’s Bay.  While the shows, shops, restaurants, and some attractions are accessible to guests in wheelchairs, several attractions cannot accommodate non-ambulatory guests.  Guests with disabilities should plan to visit Water Country USA with someone who can physically help them.  Guests should be capable of maintaining the proper body position of riding feet first, arms crossed on the chest and ankles crossed on Peppermint Twist and Lemon Drop.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE FACILITIES:  Catalina Grille and Hot Spots Cafe are designed to accommodate guests in wheelchairs.  Alternative suggestions are for guests in wheelchairs to have a companion order and transport the food or contact a host or hostess for assistance with menu selection or for descriptions. There is increased wattage lighting indining areas.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Accepted credit cards:  MC, V, JCB and DS.  Open first week-end in May through mid-Sep.  Hours vary.  For more information call 757-253-3350.
