GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Established in 1844, Ohef Sholom Temple is the largest and oldest reform congregation in Hampton Roads. Ohef Sholom Temple Archives occupies a unique position as a religious institution in the region. For a century and a half members have left their mark on the development and growth of this community. The Archives contains over 2,500 objects relating to the history of Jews in Norfolk.
PARKING: 3 wheelchair accessible parking spaces. Turn right into parking lot, behind front entrance. Nearby ramps well marked.
TYPES OF PATHS TO OR AROUND ATTRACTION: Carpeted room, accessible to persons with mobility disabilities.
ENTRANCE: At back of building. Handrails on left/right. Ramps provided. 2 entry doors, 35 in. wide, easily open out with non-turning handle located 42 in. above floor.
PUBLIC REST ROOMS: Women’s located directly across from entrance - men’s straight down hall from women’s. Doors 34 in. wide, open in. Turns to enter. Wheelchair accessible toilet is 19 inches high with room for a lateral transfer. Accessible stalls have 34 in. wide doors opening out, and handrails. Sink height 35 in. Wrapped pipes.

GIFT SHOP: Counters 41 in. high. 80 in. aisles clear of displays.
