From 58W take business 58 into Courtland, take Linden to Heritage Lane (on right when coming from Franklin.)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Southampton Heritage Village and Agriculture & Forestry Museum is dedicated to preserving antique farm equipment, hand tools and rural wares used "way back when". Located on 10 acres of land, visitors enjoy indoor and outdoor displays and exhibits of more than 6000 items, many of which are 200+ years old. The Heritage Village includes a 1950s Country Store that sold all the things that Grandma needed, a one-room school house, country dwelling, 4-seater outhouse and more.

PARKING:  Large open unpaved parking lot in front of main building.

TYPES OF PATHS TO OR AROUND ATTRACTION:  Dirt and gravel level paths accessible to persons with mobility disabilities.  Length of paths several hundred feet.

ENTRANCE:  Located front of exhibition building.  Handrails on left/right.  Ramps provided.  1 entry door, 33 in. wide, easily opens in with round handle located 34 in. above floor.

PUBLIC REST ROOMS:  One is located in exhibition building.  Available without steps.  Doors 35 in. wide, open out.  No turns to enter.  Wheelchair accessible stall with handrails.  29 in. between commode and wall.  Sink height 22 in. and in a cabinet base.  Accessible stall checked regularly for obstructions.  Unisex or companion assisted rest rooms available.  Second is located end of Peanut building.  Available without steps.  Doors 33 in. wide, open out.  Turns to enter.  Wheelchair accessible stalls have 32 in. wide doors opening out, and handrails.  19 in. toilet seat height, 15 in. between commode and wall.  Sink height 33 in.  Accessible stall checked regularly for obstructions.  

SPECIAL SERVICES:
For guests with visual disabilities, there are hands-on exhibits such as Petting Zoo, incubated eggs and corn grinder on Heritage Day in September.  Signs in large print, with contrasting background.

For guests with mobility disabilities,  three buildings are wheelchair/scooter accessible - Exhibition, Peanut Shelter and Equipment Shed.  Five small out buildings are accessible by 3 steps /hand rail only.  A few more out buildings are viewable only.

GIFT SHOP:  Aisles 84 in. wide.  Counters 38 in. high.  Aisles clear of temporary displays.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Admission fee.  Open Mar - Nov, Wed, Sat - Sun 1-5.  All other times by appointment only.
