DIRECTIONS: 5.8 miles south of I-64 where it crosses under the intersection of the Skyline Drive.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The mountain farm includes a single-room log cabin and a series of outbuildings that represent elements of regional architecture of the late 19th century. Costume interpreters provide demonstrations of weaving, basket making and gardening.
PARKING: 1 wheelchair accessible parking space.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Farm is a relocated-restored typical 1890 mountain farm, complete with cabin, out buildings and kitchen garden.
TYPES OF PATHS: Visitor center and approach to farm hard surface. Path at farm is gravel.
ENTRANCE: Located south of visitor center. 2 exterior steps, each 12 in. in height. Entry doors, open in.
PUBLIC REST ROOMS: At visitor center. Doors open in. No turns to enter. Accessible stalls have 42 in. wide doors opening out and handrails. 19 in. toilet seat height, 15 in. between commode and wall. Sink height is 30 in. Accessible stalls checked regularly for obstructions.
SPECIAL SERVICES:
For guests with mobility disabilities, the paths are gravel, and do have steep grades requiring assistance for persons in wheelchairs. Paths 150 yards long. Special guide book for guests with disabilities (fee charged).
