DIRECTIONS: Rte7 (Market St. in Leesburg) to Loudoun St. thru red light - make immediate right into a parking garage on the corner of Loudoun and Wirt Streets.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Museum includes log cabin, stone wall enclosed boxwood garden, historic exhibits, and 15 minute video on Loudoun County history from 1757 to present.
PARKING: 8 designated accessible parking spaces located in parking garage, plus street parking.
TYPES OF PATHS TO OR AROUND ATTRACTION: Brick sidewalk with curb cut. Paths accessible to persons with mobility disabilities. 30 ft. from parking garage.
ENTRANCE: Located Loudoun and Wirt Streets. 1 exterior step, 2 in. high. 2 entry doors, 38 in. wide, open out with porcelain knob located 40 in. above floor. 3 steps inside lobby, to interior rooms. Each step 5 in. high and marked with tactile strip/color change. Handrails on right. Also side entrance, 32 in. wide with ramp and 5 in. step.
PUBLIC REST ROOMS: 1 bathroom, 1 commode. Door 29 in. wide, opens in. Turns to enter. Handrails. 19 in. toilet seat height, 10 in. between commode and wall. Sink height 34 in.
SPECIAL SERVICES:
For guests with hearing impairment, signing interpreters are available with advance notice. Written scripts available.
For guests with visual disabilities, there are a few hands-on exhibits. Signs are printed on a non-glossy surface.
