GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Experience one of the East Coast's most exciting, innovative children's museums. It’s a museum where you can touch everything! Kids learn through interactive play - they can chase butterflies with Shadow Play, tinker in an inventor's lab, be a star at the CMOR Playhouse, build sand castles in our new Backyard and more! GREAT FAMILY FUN for ages toddler to eight. Large, open-style building with good accessibility all on one floor. 

PARKING:  4 designated accessible parking spaces in front.  Accessible parking space 7 ft. wide with 4 ft. wide aisle. Ramps well marked.

TYPES OF PATHS TO OR AROUND ATTRACTION:  Sidewalks  accessible to persons with mobility disabilities.

ENTRANCE:  Located directly to the right of parking.  Automatic doors   open out.

PUBLIC REST ROOMS:  Located left of lobby and within the exhibits area.  Available without steps.  Doors 35 in. wide, open in.  Turns to enter.  Wheelchair accessible stalls have 34 in. wide doors opening out, and handrails.  19 in. toilet seat height, 7 in. between commode and wall.  Sink heights are 26, 30 and 35 in.  Wrapped pipes.  Accessible stall checked regularly for obstructions.  Rest rooms identified by raised figures with pants or skirt on the door to designate men or women.  Unisex and/or companion assisted rest room available at the public rest room.

SPECIAL SERVICES:
For guests with visual disabilities, almost all exhibits are hands-on for learning.  Signs with contrasting background, printed on a non-glossy surface.

For guests with mobility disabilities, all exhibits are accessible to persons with mobility disabilities except Human Mouth and Canopy over River.  Wheelchairs can be rented at the front desk. Lowered drinking fountains.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICES: Guests are welcome to bring lunches and snacks, and tables are provided in the lobby. Our museum shop features a kiosk that offers frozen yogurt, juice drinks and other snacks. There are numerous kid-friendly restaurants located in the immediate vicinity of the museum.

GIFT SHOP:  Aisles 36 to 42 in. wide, clear of temporary displays. The museum shop carries over 2000 educational toys, games, art and craft supplies, musical instruments, intriguing books, hands-on projects, and more! Admission is not required in order to visit our museum shop.

SHORT PUMP LOCATION

11800 West Broad Street at Short Pump Town Center. 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Exciting and interactive fun such as Air Tubes for children to nsert brightly colored scarves into the tubes and watch them as they are sucked in by the air current, travel the path of the tube and shoot out, softly floating back down to earth where children try to catch them. The Light Peg Wall, the Big Dig for discovering artifacts, the Toddler Area for visitors aged 2 and under, and the Art Studio utilizes a wide variety of recycled materials, child-sized tools, and innovative art techniques for painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, and crafts are just a sample of the activities offered at this location.

PARKING: Easiest access will be to park near Dick's and Texas de Brazil.  We are located just inside Guest Services, to the right.

CHESTERFIELD LOCATION

6629 Lake Harbour Drive in the Winterpock Crossing Shopping Center

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Chesterfield location will appeal to children from birth to age 8.Exhibits include Main Street with pretend play in a grocery store, diner, bank, clinic and children's theater; Transportation Station has children climbing onto and exploring a bus and a fire truck; the Enchanted Forest is designed especially for our tiny visitors aged 2 and under; and the Art Studio provides an opportunity to explore and understand different types of materials, and to solve creative problems.

PARKING: Ample parking is available in the parking lot of the Winterpock Shopping Center.

SPECIAL SERVICES:
For guests with mobility disabilities, exhibit spaces are specifically designed to be wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs and walkers may also be rented at the front desk.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICES: There are numerous kid-friendly restaurants located in the immediate vicinity of the museum as well, and a list can be obtained at the front desk.
