Pearisburg is the county seat for Giles County, near Blacksburg at the intersection of US Route 460 and State Route 100 close to the West Virginia border. Pearisburg has existed as a village since 1808. The historical district includes buildings from almost every period in the town's development. The two most significant predate 1840.
