Located in Mecklenburg County in Southside virginia, La Crosse is a charming town of less than a thousand, close to South Hill. It takes its name as a place where railroads once crossed in the middle of the town.. There is still a caboose in the center of the town as a symbol of their heritage.
Interstate 85 is close to the the town, with US Route 58 going thourgh it. La Crosse will once again have a train intersecting the middle of town when the new Southeast Hi-Speed Railroad Corridor is constructed beginning in the next few years.
