GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Accessible camping provided in “A” campground with water, electric hook-ups spaces and tent spaces.

PARKING:  One designated accessible parking space, at campground bathhouse/rest room.  Parking space is 16 ft. wide.  Accessible aisle:  4 ft. wide.  Extra wide parking for RV’s modified for wheelchair users. 

TYPES OF PATHS TO OR AROUND CAMPGROUND:  Asphalt roadway within campground, to and from bathhouse.  Most sites gravel parking pad.  Trails accessible to persons with mobility disabilities.  A camp host is available in “A” campground who may assist.

ENTRANCE TO CONCESSION/GIFT SHOP:  Located at camp store approximately 500 ft. from “A” campground.  3 exterior steps, each 6 in. in height.  Handrails on right.  Ramps are provided.  Glass doors, 36 in. wide, easily open in with clearly marked lever handle 35 in. above the floor.  Aisles 42-48 in. wide.  Counters 40 in. high.  Aisles clear of temporary displays.

BATH HOUSE/REST ROOMS:  Campground “A” bathhouse is wheelchair accessible.  Available without steps. Doors are 36 in. wide, and open in.  Turns must be made to enter.  Accessible stalls have 36 in. wide doors opening out and handrails.  19 in. toilet seat height, and 12 in. between commode and wall.  Sink height is 28-33 in.  Pipes are wrapped.  Accessible stall checked regularly for obstructions.  Roll-in shower available.  Rest rooms identified by raised figures with pants or skirt on the door to designate men or women.

DESCRIPTION OF ACTUAL CAMP SITE:  Camping spaces have electrical hook-up and water. Personnel are available to assist with hook-up.  Pull thru sites are available.

SPECIAL SERVICES:
For guests with visual disabilities:  Signs in large print on a non-glossy surface.  

PICNIC AREAS:  A single table located at the camp site.  Picnic area has 1 table for guests in wheelchairs.  The paths to and within the picnic areas are gravel.

The park has housekeeping cabins and a PRR retreat.  (Sleeps up to 16)  Two cabins (cabin #6 and #25)  are accessible as well as the retreat due to recent modifications.  Rental fees for various kinds of boats, swimming, picnic shelters, camping, cabins, amphitheater, pet fees, miscellaneous fees, audio visual meeting equipment, season passes, and Potomac River Retreat Conference Room.
