From Washington, DC  and Northern Virginia, go West on I-66 to exit 23.  Proceed on Rte 17 North.  Turn left on Rte 50.  Turn Left on Rte 624 (Red Gate Road).  Proceed 1/2 mile.  From I-81, take exit 313, proceedapproximately 13 miles on Rte 50.  Turn rt on Rte 624 (Red Gate Road) and proceed 1/2 mile.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Stately 1811 manor house on a 400 acre working horse farm overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Exquisitely restored house with 18th and 19th century furnishings.  Beautiful gardens dedicated to England’s renowned floral designer, Sheila Macqueen.  Special events and activities throughout the year. 

PARKING:  Open parking.

TYPES OF PATHS TO OR AROUND ATTRACTION:  Gravel, asphalt and brick walkways.  Paths accessible to persons with mobility disabilities.  Length of paths 100 ft.

ENTRANCE:  Located in North Portico.  6 exterior steps, each 6 in. high.  Handrails on left/rt.  Ramps provided.  Automatic doors.    Handrails on left/rt to second floor.

PUBLIC REST ROOMS:  Located in hunt room and basement.  Doors 28 in. wide, open in.  Turns to enter.  Stalls have 16 in. between commode and wall.  Sink height 32 in.  Unisex or companion assisted rest rooms available.

Special guide book for guests with disabilities.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Open to the public Apr-Oct, Sat-Sun noon-4PM.  Groups of 10 or more are welcome year round with advance notice.  Admission fee.  Special events are held on the grounds of Long Branch throughout the year.  Please call for details.
