ENTRANCE: Located in front, at either side and in back. Entry doors, 34 in. wide, open out with push bar handle located 34 in. above floor. Glass doors have handles clearly marked in contrasting color.
FACILITIES: Signs in contrasting colors with raised lettering. Lowered drinking fountains. Luggage handling available. Non-smoking rooms available.
PUBLIC REST ROOMS: In lobby near meeting rooms, restaurant and lounge. Doors are 34 in. wide, and open in. Turns to enter. Accessible stalls have 33 in. wide doors opening out and handrails. 19 in. toilet seat height, and 12 in. between commode and wall. Sink height is 26 in. Accessible stall checked regularly for obstructions.
ELEVATOR: Wheelchair accessible elevator with sound indicator.
ACCOMMODATIONS: 2 wheelchair accessible rooms on 1st floor, with king-size bed on frame with no obstruction beneath. Cot available. Unneeded furniture can be removed. 60 in. circular clear space in room. Bathroom door is 36 in. wide. Grab bar in tub. Hand held shower heads. Sink 27 in. high, pipes wrapped. Handrail with toilet. Room numbers with raised markings. Flashing light smoke alarms, TTY, phone flasher, door knock light, closed captioned TV. Lever handles on doors. Lowered closet rods, light switches, thermostat and peep holes.
STAFF TRAINING: Front desk and bellmen trained to serve guests in wheelchairs or having mobility, visual or hearing impairments. Use video tape training and manual every 6 months.
RESTAURANT: 10 tables for guests in wheelchairs, in smoking and non-smoking areas. Table height 30 in., aisles between tables 36 in.
SAFETY PROCEDURES: Guests in wheelchairs routinely assigned to first floor rooms. Front desk personnel made aware of guests with disabilities and their type, to assist as needed in case of emergency.
