We have several theatre locations.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Virginia Repertory Theatre is a nonprofit, professional theatre company and the result of the 2012 merger of Barksdale Theatre and Theatre IV. Virginia Rep is the largest professional theatre and one of the largest performing arts organizations in Central Virginia creating professional productions of the great comedies, dramas, and musicals serving an audience of all ages and backgrounds.

NOVEMBER THEATRE AND THEATRE GYM

The November Theatre is located in downtown Richmond, 114 West Broad Street. It is a renovated historic theatre, the Empire, built in 1911. The Theatre Gym and the Cadence Theatre Company, in partnership with Virginia Rep, presents a new season of inspiring, contemporary and bold shows in the intimate space of 80 seats.

SPECIAL SERVICES:

CHILDREN'S THEATRE AT WILLOW LAWN

The Willow Lawn Theatre is located In The Shops at Willow Lawn Shopping Center, 1601 Willow Lawn Drive.

PARKING: 4 designated accessible parking spaces, located across the street with general mall parking.  Accessible parking space 10 ft. wide.  Accessible aisle 5 ft. wide.  Nearby ramps well marked.

ENTRANCE:  Located across street from large parking lot - (accessible spaces not directly across from entrance.)  Handrails on right.  Ramps provided.  2 entry doors, 35 in. wide, open out with vertical metal pull handle located 32 in. above floor.

PUBLIC REST ROOMS:  Located on same floor as theater.  Available without steps.  Doors 36 in. wide, open in.  Turns to enter.  Wheelchair accessible stalls have 34 in. wide doors opening out, and handrails.  Sink height 30 in.  Wrapped pipes.  Accessible stall checked regularly for obstructions.  Rest rooms identified by raised figures with pants or skirt on the door to designate men or women.

ELEVATOR:  Located to the left near entrance to building.  Serves all levels.  Door width 36 in.  Control buttons 42 in. high.  Elevator car interior is 64 in. by 61 in.  Buttons in braille and raised.  Door stays open 6 seconds.  Audible floor change signal.  Floor sign on exterior in braille.

HANOVER TAVERN

The Hanover Tavern at 13181 Hanover Courthouse Road in Hanover, VA is one of the oldest taverns in the United States. The first tavern was licensed at the site beginning in 1733. In 1953, six actors from New York moved into what had become a historic ruin, and founded Central Virginia’s first professional theatre, Barksdale Theatre.

For guests with mobility disabilities, wheelchair accessible seating can be purchased online or via the box office at (804) 282-2620. Wheelchair accessible ramp into the building.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE FACILITIES: Link to Hanover Tavern Restaurant and Pub offers a pre-theater dinner menu in their gracious old dining rooms. Reservations must be made separately by calling the Hanover Tavern Foundation at (804) 537-5050 or by visiting their website.

We're always open at the performance venue from two hours before curtain. From one half hour before curtain time, the phones may not be available due to a high number of walk-up patrons.

Tickets to performances at the Hanover Tavern will be waiting for you at the Will Call window when you arrive at the Tavern for the performance. If you would prefer to pick up your tickets in advance, you can do so by stopping by one of our box office locations at the November Theatre or Willow Lawn.
