FACILITIES: Portable ramp available. Signage is printed in contrasting colors. Luggage handling available. Non-smoking rooms available. Increased wattage lighting in dining and meeting areas.
PUBLIC REST ROOMS: North side of restaurant. Doors are 36 in. wide, and open in. No turns to enter. Accessible stalls have 36 in. wide doors opening out. and handrails. 19 in. toilet seat height, and 12 in. between commode and wall. Sink height is 36 in. Accessible stall checked regularly for obstructions.
ACCOMMODATIONS: 1 wheelchair accessible room with 2 double beds, located on first floor. Unneeded furniture removed on request. Bathroom door is 36 in. wide. Grab bar in tub. Hand held shower head. Sink is 36 in. high, pipes wrapped. Handrail with toilet. 19 in. toilet seat height. Large digit display alarm clocks. Smoke alarm with flashing light. Closed captioned TV. Lever handles on doors. Lowered thermostats and light switches.
RESTAURANT: There are 20 tables for guests in wheelchairs, located throughout. Table height is 30 in., aisle width between tables is 36 in. Cuisine features baked Virgina ham and the restaurant was votes as one of the top 12 non-franchise restaurants in the state by Cooperative Living magazine.
SAFETY PROCEDURES: Guests in wheelchairs routinely assigned to first floor rooms. Front desk personnel made aware of guests with disabilities, and their type, in case of emergency.
