It’s animals, agriculture, shows, exhibits, blue ribbon competitions, fine arts and crafts, fabulous food, music, and much more.

From the Demolition Derby to the King BMX Stunt Show to the racing pigs of Rosaire’s Royal Racers riders, the fair will be an action-packed 10 days. Alligator wrestling, magicians and the West Texas Rattlesnake show add to the excitement.

Savor everything from apple dumplings to deep-fried bubble gum. Battered, dipped, fried or on a stick describes many of the mouth-watering foods at this year’s State Fair of Virginia.

Equine Events honor Secretariat who was born on the grounds where the fair takes place. See mounted cowboys, miniature horses, draft horses, rodeos, drill team and ranch horse competitions, as well as jumping and dressage equestrian demonstrations.See the Original Drifters, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, and Parmalee plus some musical surprises from national recording artists and some artists of regional renown. Adding to the fun are the banjo and fiddle competitions.

After Sept. 2, tickets also can be purchased (subject to availability) at 70 BB&T bank locations in the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Petersburg areas, at 24 Martin’s Food Markets locations in the greater Richmond and Williamsburg areas, the five Call Federal Credit Union locations in the Richmond area, and the Caroline County Visitor Center in Carmel Church.

DIRECTIONS:
From I-95, take Exit 98 (Doswell) and travel 1½ miles east on state Route 30.

Alternate Routes:

1. Take U.S. Route 301 to state Route 30; travel about 3 miles west on Route 30.

2. Take U.S. Route 1 to state Route 30; travel about 2 miles east on Route 30.

PARKING:
Location of accessible parking: D Lot-Gate 6
No designated RV parking. If you are driving one, you will be directed to the public lots.


TRANSPORTATION:
Parking lot trams can help you get to and from your vehicle in parking Lots A and C. Look for “Tram Stops” designated with small tents and flags. They are wheelchair accessible.

RESTROOMS:
All restrooms are wheelchair accessible.
There are two family restrooms in the Farm Bureau Building.

WHEELCHAIR AND SCOOTER RENTAL:
Located at ticket Plaza. Prices listed below:

Electronic Scooter Rental:
$15 for 2 hrs
$25 for 4hrs
$50 8 hrs or all day

Wheelchair Rental:
$10 Small
$15 Oversize Comfort Chair

CHARGING STATIONS:
There are four charging stations for motorized wheelchair and scooters, cell phones, etc. throughout the property. Please ask a fair volunteer and they will direct you to the closest one. Also Recharge station locations are noted on the State Fair map throughout the property.


CONCERTS:
You’re welcome to bring lawn chairs for the Festival Stage concert series, and those chairs can be checked near the stage so you don’t have to carry them around all day. Chairs are also available for rent.

IF YOU WANT TO LEAVE AND RETURN TO THE FAIR…..
Visitors who buy a ticket and then want to leave and return to the fair on the same day have that option. We allow re-entry with a valid hand-stamp, so please remember to get your hand stamped before exiting if you plan to return that same day.
