DIRECTIONS: Take I-95, exit #92 B onto Rt. 54 West, England Street.  Take England Street to the railroad tracks and turn left, (South). Follow tracks about 2 blocks to Cox Lane.  Turn right on Cox Lane and there you are at 500 South Center.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Built in 1859 as a church, since 1967 the Center has been a non-profit community organization supporting cultural, educational and community activities for the town of Ashland and the county of Hanover.  The auditorium is an affordable, flexible and elegant place in Richmond for wedding receptions.

PARKING:  2 designated accessible parking spaces, located on Cox Lane.  Accessible spaces 15 ft. wide, accessible aisle 7 ft. wide.  Nearby ramps well marked.  RV parking limited.

TYPES OF PATHS TO OR AROUND ATTRACTION:  Sidewalks in the neighborhood take you around historic district, and are accessible to persons with mobility disabilities.

ENTRANCE:  In front of auditorium, with 5 steps.  Also a side door on Cox Lane with 8 steps, each 7 in. high, and a wheelchair ramp.   Handrails on left/right.  1 entry door, 36 in. wide, opens out with knob and lever handle located 36 in. above floor.

PUBLIC REST ROOMS:  On main floor off stage area of auditorium.  Available without steps.  Doors 36 in. wide, open out.  No turns to enter.  19 in. toilet seat height, 17 in. between commode and wall.  Sink height 31 in.  Accessible stall checked regularly for obstructions.  Unisex or companion assisted rest rooms available.

PUBLIC TELEPHONE:  Accessible phones located off auditorium.

SPECIAL SERVICES:
For guests with hearing disabilities:  Signing interpreters available with advance notice.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  No credit cards accepted.  Our office is open 9-2, Tues-Fri.  Classes are taught by the semester in art, piano, strings, acting, voice and guitar.  Class times vary.  Special programs for the community:  4th of July parade and concert, quarterly luncheons, 10k run, Christmas house tour (every other year), Musical Variety Show (every other year), holiday caroling.  Also home to Hanover Concert Band, READ adult literacy center, Ashland Girl Scouts, Ashland Stage Co., Ashland Cooperative Preschool (Montesouri), Harvest Moon Art Studio, Glassmates stained glass studio, AARP and Hanover Community Club.
