Procedure for transferring from wheelchair to ride attraction: When applicable, rides will be stopped to assure a safe transfer.
Attractions not considered safe for guests in wheelchairs or with mobility disabilities: Symbols are posted next to the entrance of rides to indicate certain physical conditions which could be affected by that ride. Additional restrictions are listed in the guide book. Guest's safety is an important priority. Management reserves the right to make the final decision regarding the eligibility of a rider.
PROCEDURES FOR GUESTS WITH MOBILITY OR VISUAL DISABILITIES:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: World’s largest collection of Confederate artifacts, and restored home of Confederate President Jefferson Davis and family from 1861 to 1865, bring the Civil War to life.
PARKING: Free parking at hospital visitors’ deck across street.
TYPES OF PATHS: Brick sidewalk and courtyard. Museum interior is commercial carpet and brick tile. Interior features several stairways.
ENTRANCE: Clay Street. 6 exterior steps, each 6 in. in height. Handrails on rt. Ramps provided. Entry doors, 36 in. wide, easily open out with “D” handle located 36 in. above floor. MUSEUM: Three levels of galleries in the Museum are self guided and accessible by elevator. WHITE HOUSE OF THE CONFEDERACY: Not wheelchair accessible.
PUBLIC REST ROOMS: Located off lobby. Doors are 31 in. wide, open in. Turns to enter. Accessible stalls have 31 in. wide doors opening out, and handrails. 19 in. toilet seat height, and 13 in. between commode and wall. Sink height is 33 in. Accessible stall checked for obstructions.
ELEVATOR: Wheelchair accessible elevator.
PUBLIC TELEPHONE: There are wheelchair accessible phones and amplified phones.

For guests with mobility disabilities, a slide presentation showing the White House may be arranged with prior notice.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: A project of the Old Dominion Chapter, National Railway Historical Society. Museum at the former Hull Street Station features steam, caboose, freight and passenger equipment.
PARKING: Located on original 1915 cobblestones, lanes are not marked. RV parking.

SPECIAL SERVICES:
For guests with hearing disabilities,there are tours in American Sign Language. Signing interpreters available with advance notice.
For guests with visual disabilities, there are hands-on exhibits. In addition to railroad rolling stock, these include locomotive bell, railroad telephones and telegraph, antique platform scale, baggage, specimen rails, track tools, baggage wagons and streetcar fare box.
